Mark Williams-a tale of stupidity
50For those that have been under a rock for the last few weeks, Mark Williams is a radio talk show host and a major mover and shaker in the Tea Party movement. A poor man's Glenn Beck some might say. I am not going to argue about what Mr Williams' beliefs are nor am I going to debate whether or not he is a racist. Honestly, it matters very little for what I want to say. My point is that Mr Williams made a poor decision and his inner circle told him it would be a good idea to do so.
To begin, I understand satire. I find it very amusing and think that it is capable of carrying a powerful message. There are some things that it is unwise to satirize. One should not use satire when discussing one's religion or racism. Why you ask, because some people do not understand satire and they take the words that you write as the way that you feel no matter how far flung the words might be.
In essence, Mark, you made a fool of yourself regardless of your intentions. You have either shown your true colors or at the least gave the opposition enough reasonable doubt to convince many people that you are a racist. Not only that, but you also gave the people that you represent a black eye. Congratulations.
